H ilton Garden Inn, Hilton Worldwide's (NYSE: HLT) upscale global brand of hotels, recently announced the opening of its second property in Hawaii, the brand's first property in the Waikiki area of Honolulu, its largest property of all time, Hilton Garden Inn Waikiki Beach. The newly redeveloped Hilton Garden Inn Waikiki Beach, managed by Evolution Hospitality, brings 623 new rooms to the Hilton Garden In n brand. "Opening our second Hilton Garden Inn branded hotel in Hawaii, the first in the capital of Hawaii, is a major feat for the brand, which is expanding at a rapid pace," said John Greenleaf, global head, Hilton Garden Inn. "With 11 Hilton Worldwide hotels open or in various stages of develop- ment in Hawaii, Hilton Garden Inn brings in a new, diverse option for guests that allows for both a produc tive business trip and, at the same time, a leisurely stay with all the allure of a tropical vacation resort." The hotel is located only two blocks from the famous Waikiki Beach, across the street from the revitalized International Market Place and 25 minutes from the Honolulu International Airport. It is within walking dis- tance of a variety of the shopping, dining, cultural institutions and adven- tu re activities for which the island of Oahu is known. Guests can easily walk to the world-class shopping and dining along Kalakaua Avenue, the Honolulu Zoo and the Ala Wai Golf Course. The USS Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor, Diamond Head State Monument, Polynesian Cultural Center, and Waimea Falls are also popular attractions. Adventure activities are abundant, and guests can choose from surfing, stand up paddle boarding, kayaking, diving, biking, fishing, sunbathing and sightseeing within the Waikiki resort area. Guests can rely on additional suggestions from community-oriented Hilton Garden Inn Team Members or consult the Activities Concierge Desk located in the lobby of the Hilton Garden Inn Waikiki Beach for things to do and places to eat. "From the modern guest rooms to the grand, light and air y lobby space, the Hilton Garden Inn Waikiki Beach has been completely re-envisioned," said John Taffin, general manager. "We're proud to present this upscale hotel brand in true friendly Waikiki style to our guests planning leisure vacations, as well as business meet- ings and conferences on the island of Oahu." Hilton Garden Inn Waikiki Beach recently under- went an extensive $115 million redevelopment and now features a lively living-room style lobby with com- munal seating and classic Hawaiian design. Guests will be able to experience high wooden ceilings, bor- dered by gallery-lit Hawaiian kapa prints on reclaimed wood and a color palette that pays homage to the beauty of the islands through natural materials, finish- es and textures. The décor is carried into guest rooms where pops of cobalt and ta ngerine are reflected and patterns that echo elements such as the ocean and sky provide an island sense of place. All 623 guest rooms, including one- and two-bedroom suites, boast the brand's signa- ture bedding that features fresh, white duvets and crisp linens, a 48-inch HDTV with premium channels, and an in-room "hospitality center" with a microwave, mini-refrigerator, and Keurig coffee/tea maker. Mos t rooms will include a walk-out lanai with seating, which will be ideal for enjoying a morning coffee or taking in the sunset. All suites and most rooms will have partial ocean or city views. Adjoining rooms are available—perfect for families or larger groups travel- ing together.
