Displays Gallery New from ViewZ (www.ViewZUSA.com) is the VZ240PM-3G, a 24-inch video production 3G-SDI monitor. The IPS LCD backlit panel with 12-bit processing offers color-grading quality with 1920x1200 resolution, 2K input capability, 1:1 pixel matching, wide color gamut, precise white balance and gamma and 3D LUT. Among the advantages of the new monitor are 1,000:1 contrast ratio; de-embedded 16-channel audio level meter; built-in speaker; realtime waveform/vectorscope dis- play; various markers; blue, red, green and mono screen color mode; motion and edge adaptive de-interlacing up to 1080p; selectable hot key; HDMI-SDI and SDI-HDMI active loop through and display out. The VZ240PM-3G also offers low power consumption. Blackmagic's (www.blackmagic-design.com) SmartView HD 17-inch LCD monitor began shipping in January. The 1920x1080 display enables users to monitor SD, HD and 3Gbs SDI video in full resolution HD; it automatically detects 2K, HD or SD inputs. SmartView HD sports an ultra-slim, 6RU rack-mountable design: At just one inch thick, it's ideal for all SDI monitoring needs and can be adjusted from the user's Mac or Windows computer via Ethernet. Barco's (www.barco.com) DP2K-P features an expanded color gamut, high contrast, brightness uniformity and specialized post software. The DP2K- P meets the performance demands of post houses and review room require- ments outlined in the DCI specification. The DP2K-P builds on Barco's successful DP2K B Series from which it has adopted optimum light efficiency, low cost of own- ership and user-friendly operation. It inte- grates Texas Instruments' 1.2-inch DLP Cinema chip for 4K compatibility. The projector comes with a special version of the company's Communicator software package enabling users to create and customize 2D and 3D LUTs. NEC (www.necdisplay.com) has debuted the first model in its new generation of MultiSync P Series monitors with the 24-inch wide- screen MultiSync P241W, an affordable alternative for entry-level pro graphics users. The P241W features e-IPS LCD technology for wide viewing angles; 1920x1200 native reso- lution; 96.7 percent sRGB color gamut; 1,000:1 typical contrast ratio; 14-bit 3D pro- grammable LUTs; ICC Profile Emulation for quick access to alternate color spaces; Color Vision Emulation for realtime preview of Type P/D/T color vision deficiencies in support of Color Universal Design; and the SpectraView Color Calibration Solution, which includes software and colorimeter for automated monitor matching and calibration. Boland (www. bolandcom.com) has introduced its SE Series of broadcast moni- tors, offering 3G/ HD/SD SDI, HDMI, DVI and composite inputs. The mod- els, which range in size from 8- to 70-inches, feature full 1920x1080 resolution, waveform and vector scopes, adjustable frame markers, REC 709 factory calibra- tion, de-embedded audio and meters, 10-bit LCD panels, adjustable color temperature and a variety of other features and functions suited for post production. 24 Post • June 2012 www.postmagazine.com The latest additions to Ikegami's line (www.ikegami. com) of HD flat-panel LCD monitors are the HLM-907WR 9-inch high-resolution LED- backlit LCD panel, a compact monitor suitable for rack- mount, truck or portable appli- cations; the HLM-7002WR dual 7-inch rack mount; and the HLM-5003WR triple 5-inch rack mount models. Ikegami also offers the 50 Series of Grade-One LCD monitors, which include the HLM-3250W, 2450WB and 1750WR, all with accurate color and gamma reproduction, embedded audio-level metering and optional 3G-SDI inputs. The 04 Series of economical HD displays offers full 1920x1080 resolution and built-in vector/waveform monitoring in 17- and 9-inch models.
