A personal favorite. —JB Old World nose; delicate structure with subtlety and complexity. Mourvèdre à la Pinot Noir. Nice! —DG Sierra Vista 2013 Mourvèdre, West Slope, El Dorado ($29) Serrano ham/prosciutto on the nose; flavors of damp soil/ forest floor. —JB Garnet color with gold highlights; complex and elegant with medium palate weight. —DG Tablas Creek 2013 Estate Mourvèdre, Adelaida District, Paso Robles ($40) Savory, spicy and mellow with ripe berry fruit and pepper spice; rich, balanced and juicy. —Anthony Dias Blue VINEYARD BRANDS Tarima Hill 2012 Old Vine Monastrell, DO Alicante, Spain ($16.99) Fleshy black cherry and peppered blackberry with dark chocolate and licorice. —Meridith May HENRY WINE GROUP Telmo Rodriguez 2013 Al-muvedre Tinto Monastrell, DO Alicante, Spain ($15) "Black tea in a tin box" nose leads to black pepper and raspberry compote. —JB Tea and lovely red fruit; medium weight and 13.5% alcohol. —DG VINTUS Torbreck 2012 The Pict, Barossa Valley, Australia ($75) 100% Mataro Nose recalls Dr. Pepper and Jägermeister ; huge on the palate, with notes of herbes de Provence and raspberry liqueur. —JB A gorgeous big boy; lots of herbs, ripe fruit and convincing complexity. A favorite. —DG WINE CREEK LLC ROSÉ VERSIONS Château Vannières 2015 Bandol Rosé, France ($24.99) Green straw, chamomile and a sprig of thyme on the nose; lighter in body with a coppery finish. —JB Lovely, fresh acidity and a lengthy finish. An ideal summertime wine. —DG H. MERCIER IMPORTS Hecht & Bannier 2011 Bandol Rosé, France ($38) Hard-boiled egg nose; dried stone fruit on a silky structure; good medium- plus body but the finish falls out. —JB Sulfur-bomb nose (which did dissipate with later tasting); salmon color and nice, ripe fruit. —DG FREDERICK WILDMAN AND SONS Le Grand Cros Aurélia, Côtes de Provence Rosé, France ($19.99) Fresh strawberry and stone fruit nose; candied raspberry flavors; falls out on the finish. —JB Pretty-in-pink color ; clean, spicy nose; red fruit with a candied quality on the palate. –DG MARITIME WINE TRADING COLLECTIVE (AND OTHERS)
