As director of both the Culinary Arts and Hospitality program and the Wine program at Cabrillo College, Slater's enthusiasm for the region's wines is matched by her longtime commitment to the food and beverage arts programs that she teaches and now directs. "It's not just my job," says Slater. "It's my life's work." It all takes place at the symbolic heart of the Cabrillo College Aptos campus, the historic Sesnon House, which is the focal point for all things food- and wine-related at the college.
