Russell spent a decade at Absolute Post, serving as senior producer and helping to open their Lon- don and New York City offices. He has a reputa- tion for technologically-innovative work, includ- ing contributions to AT&T's "The New Possible" campaign, which integrated live Olympic record results into a fully-produced spot, seemingly in realtime. TOM SCHACHTE Creative post boutique Hooligan, which specializ- es in artistic offline editing and visual effects, has signed editor Tom Schachte to its team. He joins the NYC studio following tenures at Blue Rock and Wild Child. Schachte has edited everything from com- mercials and branded content to TV shows and documentaries. He has earned a reputation for being a powerful storyteller and a director's edi- tor. Brand work includes AOL, AT&T and eBay. KATE FINAN, JEFF SHIFFMAN Kate Finan and Jeff Shiffman recently opened Boom Box Post, a new post pro- duction sound studio located in Burbank. For the past 10 years, Finan and Shiffman have worked in animation sound, most recently serving as supervising sound editors at Warner Bros. Boom Box Post launches with a passion for sound design. The studio will take on sound for television and film projects, and will also cater to the ex- panding world of digital content delivery. Boom Box's list of services include sound design, sound editorial, Foley, dialogue editing, re-recording mixing, and custom music. GILES FARLEY Oxford-based Sonnox, which manufactures high-quality audio plug-ins, has expanded its UK team with the appointment of Giles Farley to in- ternational sales manager. He will be responsible for the company's international reseller channel. Farley comes to Sonnox from Pinewood Group's post production department, where he was most recently managing director. He began his career in 1993, working with Digidesign as an interna- tional product specialist. PEOPLE MEREDITH NAZZARO New York audio house SuperExploder has added Meredith Nazzaro to its team as senior producer. She brings over a decade of experience in post, having worked extensively on broadcast pro- motions and commercials. As senior producer, Nazzaro will oversee all mixing, sound design and original music composition projects at SuperEx- ploder, which is home to four mix studios. Nassaro got her start in post at audio studio Bionic in NYC. She spent eight years there and later moved on to AudioEngine, where she served as an EP. KEVIN ARATARI Hollywood-based Troika has the hired Kevin Aratari. He will oversee all sales and marketing functions, and will work closely with founder/CEO Dan Pappalardo on strategic business develop- ment and thought-leadership initiatives. Prior to joining Troika, Aratari was a 13-year veteran of entertainment creative agency mOcean. There, he founded the broadcast de- partment that produced campaigns, rebrands, series launches and brand partnerships for TV clients such as FX, Discovery, Scripps, A+E, AMC Networks, Disney/ABC, CBS and Showtime. Prior to mOcean, Aratari worked at Pittard Sullivan. ASTRID DOWNS Creative editorial company Beast in Santa Monica has hired executive producer Astrid Downs. She brings a well-rounded background, having worked across production and post production for over a decade. Downs began her career serving as a line producer for a production company specializing in the Hispanic market. She then transitioned to working with Where's the Board and WTB Inter- active for nearly eight years, a role in which she represented a wide range of post companies. Most recently, Downs headed up the commercial division of MRB Production. NICK PEZZILLO Editor Nick Pezzillo has joined the roster at Butch- er in Santa Monica. He was previously at Founda- tion Content and brings experience cutting com- mercial projects for globally-recognized brands, including Microsoft, Audi, EA Sports, Nissan and Levi's. Pezzillo joining comes on the heels of a re- cent expansion and the addition of a VFX division. Aside from his commercial work, Pezzillo has also contributed to several short films, including A Supporting Role. His music video work includes collaborations with Arctic Monkeys, Alex Clare, Portugal the Man, Andy Grammar, and King Krule. SHIFFMAN FINAN
