Beauty Box Video 4.0 supports and boosts rendering speeds on Nvidia's CUDA and AMD GPUs, as well as further refines OpenCL support. This results in realtime rendering when using newer GPUs, such as the Nvidia GTX 980. Beauty Box Video addresses skin and makeup chal- lenges that HD and 4K video reveal, with automatic skin retouching and digital makeup, giving subjects a make- over in post, using face detection, masking, and smooth- ing algorithms. Beauty Box Video 4.0 currently works in Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro and Apple's Final Cut Pro X. Beauty Box Video 4.0 is regularly priced at $199, but will be on sale for $149 until April 30th, 2015. Users can upgrade to one host application for $59. SONNET GROWS THUNDERBOLT 2-TO-PCIE EXPANSION CHASSIS LINE IRVINE, CA — Sonnet (www.sonnettech.com) has added the Echo Express SE I to its Echo Express line of Thunder- bolt 2-to-PCIe expansion systems, which enables the use of a wide variety of high-performance PCI Express (PCIe) cards — originally designed for use in desktop computers — with any Mac or Windows computer with a Thun- derbolt port. The new single-slot model supports nearly every Thunderbolt-com- patible PCIe card on the market, including double-width cards (PCIe card plus daughter card). The Echo Express SE I features Thunderbolt 2 technology and incorporates support for the DisplayPort 1.2 protocol, which enables video streaming to a 4K video monitor. The new expansion chassis is well suited for use with a wide vari- ety of pro video capture, audio interface, SAS or SATA HBA, 16Gb or 8Gb Fibre Channel, 10 Gigabit Ethernet, and RAID controller PCIe cards, allowing them to connect with Thunderbolt-enabled iMac, Mac mini, MacBook Air, and MacBook Pro computers, as well as Mac Pro computers that lack PCIe expansion slots. The Echo Express SE I's dual Thunderbolt 2 ports support full-bandwidth connectivity with 20Gbps Thunderbolt 2-equipped host computers, and also provide full backward compatibility with 10Gbps Thunderbolt-equipped computers and devices. Also supported is daisy-chaining of other Thunderbolt 2 and Thunderbolt devices. The Echo Express SE I is available now for $349. BLACKMAGIC UPDATES TERANEX EXPRESS FORMAT CONVERTER FREMONT, CA — Black- magic Design (www. blackmagicdesign.com) has released a major update for its Teranex Express product. The Teranex 3.2 Update adds full motion standards conversion for a total of 1,089 realtime SD, HD and Ultra HD formats. With this new software update and Teranex Ex- press' 12G-SDI technology, users can convert between any SD, HD and Ultra HD video format, all the way up to 2,160/p60. The 3.2 Update is available for download for free of charge from the Blackmagic Design Website. After installation, customers will see an ad- ditional 862 conversions that include new format and frame rate conver- sions, along with 3:2 pull down detection and removal. SD masters can be up converted to HD, frame rates can be converted and 2:3 pulldown can be removed in one step. Cadence can be automatically detected and removed, even from edited content. Because it supports advanced 12G-SDI technology that's multi rate, the 12G-SDI connections will switch between all SD-SDI, HD-SDI, 3G-SDI, 6G-SDI and 12G-SDI automatically depending on the conversion select- ed. This means customers can move 720p or 1080p sources to Ultra HD in realtime. NAB PRODUCTS
