Professor Lazzarino's expertise in the vinification and bottling of Piemontese wines will be featured in our A Sense of Place seminar. Franco Bernabei, Consulting Winemaker, Sartori di Verona, Italy Long considered one of the premier consulting enologists in Italy, Professor Bernabei has helped Sartori di Verona reach an unprecedented level of quality for the historic producer. Professor Bernabei, who believes that "individuality begins in the soil," will share this philosophy during the A Sense of Place seminar. Mauro Merz, Directing Winemaker, Fontana Candida, Rome, Italy A pioneer of the high-quality small- production wine wave sweeping Italy, Professor Merz is dedicated to reviving, updating and upscaling the wines from Frascati. His commit- ment to the region has brought Fontana Candida to the forefront by emphasizing quality over yield, which he will discuss in the A Sense of Place seminar. Stuart Bourne, Winemaker, Château Tanunda, Barossa, Australia A South Australia native who cut his teeth working at some of West Australia, Clare Valley and Victoria's top wineries, Professor Bourne has returned to his Barossa roots at Château Tanunda, where his wines have reached world-class status. Professor Bourne will examine the age-old question of winemaking versus grape-growing during the A Sense of Place seminar. Vanni Lusetti, Winemaker, Albinea Canali and Maschio, Reggio Emilia and Prosecco, Italy A native of Emilia in the heartland of Lambrusco, Professor Lusetti is a Master enolgist who has been making wines for the majority of his life. Although his knowledge of winemaking and grapes is the product of years of formal education, Professor Lusetti is a believer in wine's day-to-day pleasures. "There should be no snobbery in drinking wine," says Professor Lusett i. Noelia Orts, Winemaker, Emiliana, Colchagua, Chile After travling the world and studying with some of the finest New World winemakers, Professor Orts joined the Emiliana family as winemaker in 2011. She has helped Emiliana pioneer world-class biodynamic wines, which she will discuss in the Going Green: All Hail Mother Nature seminar. Nicolas Quille, Winemaking Director, Pacific Rim, Washington State, U.S. Although he's the only American wine producer in our faculty, Professor Quille is a native of Lyon, France, where he is a third-generation wine business family member. After working in Burgundy, Dijon, Reims and Champagne, Professor Quille came to the United States in 1997, landing in Washington state to earn his MBA. Professor Quille will be speaking at the Going Green: All Hail Mother Nature seminar. Christian Scrinzi, Chief Winemaker, Bolla, Pedemonte, Italy With 692 acres of vineyards at his fingertips in Valpolicella, Professor Scrinzi has steered Bolla toward impeccable quality by carefully reviewing each vineyard and grading its quality of fruit. Along with presenting at the An Amore for Amarone seminar, his commitment to implementing as few pesticides and chemicals as possible will be discussed in the Going Green: All Hail Mother Nature seminar.
