IN THE NEWS GREATER MIAMI CONVENTION & VISITORS BUREAU RELAUNCHES MIAMI BLACK VISITORS GUIDE WEBSITE AND GUIDE BOOK Greater Miami and the Beaches Highlight Diverse Destination Offering The Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) recently announced its newest enhancements to the destination's visitors looking to embrace African heritage and cultural offerings with an upgraded website, http://MiamiBlackVisitorGuide.com/, along with a new edition of the accompanying guide book;Greater Miami andThe Beaches BlackVisitorGuide. To celebrate the new guide, the GreaterMiami Convention &Visitors Bureau unveiled it in July at the American Black Film Festival's welcome remarks and opening night filmat the ColonyTheater inMiami Beach. "Miami has a proud history of welcoming culturally diverse travelers to the destination and offers unique experiences for our visitors and residents alike to embrace the vibrant and rich culture here," noted GMCVB President and CEO William D. Talbert, III, CDME. "Our newest Black Visitors Guide is the latest installation in pronouncing the GMCVB's commitment to those visitingMiami and our partners that celebrate theAfrican her- itage culture." The new website, developed and managed WILLIAM D. TALBERT, III by the Greater Miami Convention &Visitors Bureau, allows visi- tors to plan their trip in order to fully experience the diverse sounds, tastes and sights ofBlacks that contribute to the robust cul- tural traditions alive in Miami. The site provides visitors with resources for historical sites, shopping, hotels, dining and nightlife options, event listings, churches and arts and culture stops not to miss. In conjunction with the website, the guide book features 80 pages dedicated to bringing all of the properties and attractions to life for visitors. "Miami Beach is proud to have such a diverse and rich heritage with Blacks that reside here as well as those who travel to experi- ence the unique offerings the destination offers," said mayor of MiamiBeach,MattiBower. "The newBlackVisitorsGuide showcasesMiami at its very best for those ofAfrican descent and the city ofMiami Beach is honored to support GreaterMiami and the Beaches as well as the Black Hospitality Initiative of GreaterMiami with this launch."
