making design decisions in real time, even as the camera rolled. This industry shift has fostered deeper collaboration and a renewed respect for craft. It has brought tremendous growth and responsibility, not just in what the Art Department creates, but in how we create it. Listening to your instincts, clearly communicating your vision, and advocating for your team's needs are essential, especially on projects with this kind of scope. For Production Designers working with lean teams, staying in balance is everything. Bold creative choices only succeed when supported by thoughtful planning and a strong, aligned crew. That means building trust early, being transparent with production, and giving every department room to do their best work. Mo was special, both in tone and in how our work was supported. Designing a story with such cultural weight and personal magnitude was more than a professional honor. It was a creative collaboration built on sensitivity, trust and shared belief in the story. What carried this production was not just endurance; it was the intention, love and mutual respect we brought to each day. And when that is what holds your set together, it shows. Hopefully, it helps tell a story that lingers long after the credits roll. Mo season 2 is now streaming on Netflix.
