AEA IN ACTION
5 SUMMER 2025 | ADVOCATE
AS THE 2024-2025 school year
came to a close, AEA members
stayed busy with Walk-Ins and
Stand-Outs at our worksites. ese
peaceful demonstrations, typically
held before the school day, are
designed to rally teachers, parents,
and community members around
a shared message: public schools
deserve full funding and respect.
As low salaries, chronic
underfunding, and overcrowded
classrooms continue to affect our
profession, we are making our voices
heard. Walk-Ins and Stand-Outs
are visible demonstrations of our
solidarity – with educators gathering
to hold signs, wear red, and speak
out before walking into school
together.
Walk-Ins and Stand-Outs are
also structure tests that allow us
to exercise our organizing muscles
and prepare for bigger fights to
come. ey reflect our growing
frustration with the status quo and
our determination to keep fighting
for the future of Arizona's public
schools. ey aren't just protests –
they are proof of our movement for
lasting change.
