We ght for our kids, we ght for our schools, and we ght for ourselves. Several years ago, we made the collective decision to change the very foundation of our union work. We became a ghting, fast-moving union, and it was the best decision we could have made. Today, the di erence is clear. Across our state, members have trained with Jane McAlevey's Skills to Win, which is one of the best organizing programs out there. We transformed our language, our tactics, and our strategy, and we grew our power. Now, our skills are being put to the test. Public education and labor unions are under attack. e monsters are at our door – and no one is going to save us but us. If we are going to win, we have to recognize the strength within ourselves. If you can lead a bunch of third graders in 100-degree heat at the zoo, you can do just about anything. During these nal weeks of summer, think about the changes you want to see at your worksite, in our union, or in your community. ey can be big or small. Write them down and make a plan. Remember: Organizing is a muscle. e more you use it, the stronger you will be. In solidarity,
