BITS & PIECES NEW ENGLAND'S DOOR G LAUNCHES VIRTUAL PRODUCTION STUDIO EAST PROVIDENCE, RI — Door G (www.door-g.com) is a new, independent cre- ative production studio that's leveraging virtual production, emerging AI solutions and agile workflows to create immersive video experiences. The studio offers cre- ative development, virtual production, traditional production and post services, as well as AI consulting and studio rentals. It's home to one of the largest LED virtual production stages in New England, and is available for work with agencies, brands and filmmakers. Door G's J-shaped LED wall measures a massive 56-feet-wide by 14-feet-tall and is powered via a combination of technology from Mo-Sys, INFiLED, Nvidia, Brompton and Unreal Engine. The studio is located just 12 miles from Rhode Island T.F. Green International Airport, and is within driving distance of Boston, New York and Connecticut. Coupled with Rhode Island's tax credit incentives, Door G presents a cost-effective and strategic advantage for the New England production community. "We started Door G not just to leverage emerging technologies, but to do imag- inative storytelling that wasn't possible a few years ago," explains Steve Rosa, CEO of (Add)global, Door G's parent company. "We're going to push boundaries with our partners — filmmakers, brands and agencies — to keep creating new worlds of possibilities in our studio." HARBOR OPENS LONDON STUDIO FOR AD WORK LONDON — The Harbor Picture Company (www.harborpicturecompany.com) has launched a new advertising department in London, as well as made a number of senior hires. Joining managing director Dan Bennett is head of VFX production Kirsty Murray, who was previously at Absolute and Glassworks, along with head of color production, Charlie Morris. With more than 20 years of experience, VFX lead Fergal Hendrick comes on-board as creative director, 2D. Senior VFX producers Abi Klimaszewska and Hannah Jarrold will also offer support. The team joins colorist/ECD color UK Alex Gregory, and further additions across the color and sound departments are expected to be announced soon. Harbor UK Advertising has studios at Turnmills Farringdon and has already completed work on a number of global campaigns. MD Dan Bennett says the company spent the past 12 months building the studio into what it is today. "Some might see this as a new studio, while others have already heard the buzz," he notes. "But now, we're thrilled to officially announce our launch in the UK. This marks an exciting new opportunity, creating a true post production home for UK-based directors and production companies, no matter the format of filmmaking."
