PRODUCTS www.postmagazine.com 34 POST MAR/APR 2025 PROTON'S NEW 4K MINI CAMERA WELL-SUITED FOR SPORTS APPLICATIONS GARBSEN, GERMANY — At April's NAB Show in Las Vegas, Proton Camera Innovations (proton-camera.com) is demonstrating its expanded range of mini cameras, highlighting how its compact, high-performance designs can be used in the field of sports. There are now six models in the lineup, and the company is providing a first look at Proton's latest 4K model. The company's flagship Proton Cam is one of the smallest broadcast-qual- ity cameras available on the market. With the exception of the adjustable-lens Proton Zoom, the rest of the range is based around a series of interchangeable, S-mount lenses with focal lengths from 2.2mm to 12mm, viewing angles from 35 degrees to 124 degrees, and F-stops between 1.7 and 2.8. The new Proton 4K Flex brings ultra-high resolution to Proton's lineup, intro- ducing 4K image capture with the same flexible cabling as the standard Flex model. Its compact head unit (28x28x20mm) connects to the ECU (28x38x- 23mm, 46g) via a cable of up to 30 centimeters, ensuring discreet placement in sports and large-scale productions. The camera offers up to a 120-de- gree, ultra-wide angle, high 12-bit dynamic range with two additional stops and full HDR compliance (HLG, PQ, S-log3). Designed for high sensitivity and low noise, it excels in low- light conditions and draws just 6W of power. It's equipped with a stereo mic and tally light for use in broadcast environments.
