THE EMPIRE STATE', AMERICAS CULTURAL MELTING POT, PROVIDES UNIQUE MEETING SPACES FOR ANY EVENT OF ANY SIZE C L E T U S R A M S E Y New York State is historic. It's untamed. It's iconic. But more importantly, it's anything you want it to be. The whole state is comprised of interesting and unique destinations each offering Meeting Planners an abundance of options when it comes to an event theme. Amid rolling hills and picturesque farmland, discover famous attractions, hidden gems, fun adventures and great events in Central New York. This area serves as a perfect setting for smaller to midsize gatherings, like family reunions and fraternity/sorority events. For those larger group meetings requiring more amenities and more spa- cious venues the New York City area has you covered. With NYC's world-class museums, amazing food, and unforget- table views this region will keep your guests well entertained. • • NEW YORK CITY • • New York City offers a vast array of convention and event venues throughout the five boroughs. From historic land- marks to the skyline-sweeping views in rooms at the City's observation decks, there are locations to suit every size, style and budget. Whether you want to impress your attendees with the grandeur of a Broadway theater or one of the City's world-renowned museums, New York City has no shortage of one-of-a-kind venues to hold your meeting or event. The Javits Center covers an area of 1.8 million square feet. The venue fea- tures reflective exterior glass that mirrors New York skyline by day; at night, interior lighting gives the structure a transparent quality. The building offers tremendous structural flexibility. Floor-to-ceiling acoustical dividing walls allow up to 11 individual halls to be created from 814,400 total square feet of exhibit space. Three of the halls have built-in sound systems; two have additional acoustical wall capabilities that allow for meeting rooms within the exhibition area. Special features include a 15-story, 60,000-square-foot atrium (Crystal Palace) entrance, 40,000-square-foot Galleria/River Pavilion overlooking the Hudson River and a 3,200-seat Special Events Hall with permanent stage, bal- cony seating, built-in sound system. Along with tourism and finance, real estate is a pillar of New York City's econ- omy. New does not always replace old, however. Adaptive reuse of heritage structures and materials as unique meet- ing spaces is ingrained in the City's cul- ture of sustainability. Just minutes away by ferry from Lower Manhattan and the Brooklyn waterfront, Governors Island is among the City's most storied locations and is a perfect choice for planners to explore as a unique meet space. Deeded to the City in 1960 and landmarked in 1966, Wave Hill in the Bronx, operates as a public garden and cultural center. Offering diverse artistic and educational programs, this 28-acre horticultural haven is available for business and social events. Black culture is integral to the identity of NYC, the city with the largest Black population in the US. Its influence can be felt across the five boroughs in many forms: world-renowned music and style, a celebrated food scene, the visual and per- forming arts, live experiences, business owners and all who lead the charge in keeping the City progressive, resilient and safe. The museums and galleries in NYC are some of the City's most powerful draws. Destinations like the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the American Museum of Natural History and the Whitney Museum of American Art house immense collec- tions and put on spectacular exhibitions. Couple these with the wide array of gal- leries around town, and a trip to NYC becomes a visually stunning experience. If you are thinking about bringing a conference or meeting to NYC, be sure to call Trudy Singh, Regional Vice President, Mid-Atlantic. She and her team will help you have your most successful event ever!.
