With a prolific background in music as a mixing engineer for film and television, Marygold now specializes in evoking emotion through color and texture. Marygold became interested in color grading and its parallels to audio mixing while immersed in the music industry. Born and raised in Los Angeles, he transitioned from playing guitar and drums in various bands to mixing soundtracks for TV and film, one of the most notable being the soundtrack for Crazy Rich Asians. When he transitioned to remote work during the COVID-19 pandemic, he took a self-mo- tivated deep dive into color in his free time, triggering an interest with the craft. Since then, Marygold has earned credits as a colorist for a diverse range of projects, including the launch film for Sza's 2022 album "SOS." NICK HAYNES The-Artery recently welcomed former Carbon NY and MPC executive producer Nick Haynes to its New York studio. Since its formation, The-Artery has evolved from a boutique studio to a one-stop shop offering production, post, VFX, color, VR and sound design services across advertising, film, TV, music videos and gaming. Throughout his career, Haynes has focused on building facilities, growing and managing teams, and producing jobs for leading brands, including Johnson & Johnson, Guinness and Converse. His most notable work includes the Guinness Basketball and Empty Chair spots, Tiffany & Co.'s Believe in Dreams spot, the Shadow of War game spot, and Samsung's Open Up Your World. KAMILA DAURENOVA Editor Kamila Daurenova has joined the roster at new York City's Cut+Run, and will be available for collabo- rations nationally and internationally. Born and raised in Qazaqstan, Daurenova moved to New York to pur- sue her passion for film. After studying film at NYU Tisch, she worked as an assistant editor at MTV and Saturday Night Live before being promoted to editor at Forager. She has since lent her talent to projects for Levi's, Nike, Snapchat, Puma, Cricket Wireless, Vans and Under Armour. DEB SANDERS Avid, in Burlington, MA, recently promoted technolo- gy services executive Deb Sanders to chief customer officer & senior vice president. She will lead world- wide operations for customer success, customer care, advocacy, learning and overall CX, as well as oversee collaboration with the customer-led Avid Community Association. Sanders joined Avid as vice president of global customer care in 2019. Her career spans more than 25 years leading customer-facing teams, transforming service delivery models and building new service teams to adapt to the chang- ing customer landscape. KATIE TURINSKI, GRANT SURMI Editors Katie Turinski and Grant Surmi are being promoted to partners at Exile in Los Angeles, where they will provide critical insight and creative leader- ship while working alongside current partners Shane Reid, Matt Murphy, Sasha Hirschfeld, CL Kumpata and Kirk Baxter. With nearly 20 years in the film industry, Turinski's work has spanned multiple forms and genres. Her credits include the Oscars shortlisted Netflix Original The Speed Cubers, Saturday Night Live (Seasons 47-48), multiple Super Bowl commercial campaigns, and the upcoming feature documentary Jesszilla. Her advertising clients include Facebook, Google, Nike, Coca-Cola, Ford, Sony, Samsung, Delta and Toyota. Grant Surmi's credits in TV and film include Mindhunter, Tabloid and House of Cards, while his advertising clients include Dr. Pepper, Nike, HP, Miller Lite, Roku, Samsung and Mattress Firm. He has also edited music videos for Eminem and Billie Eilish. HUNTER CURRA, JAMES SINGLETON LA-based sound studio Levels Audio has expand- ed its animation department by joining forces with supervising sound editor Hunter Curra (Rick and Morty, BoJack Horseman) and senior sound design- er James Singleton (Big Mouth, Star Trek: Lower Decks). Levels was founded in 1999 by musician/pro- ducer/recording engineer Brian Riordan in response to a shortage of independently owned and operated audio post facilities. Together with Curra (top photo) and Singleton (bottom photo), the studio is currently completing the sound design, sound effects editing, Foley and mixing for the reboot of Clone High, set for release in 2023 on HBO Max. JASMINE 'MAC' MCCULLOUGH, LUCAS MOESCH Creative editorial house Final Cut has added talent to its New York and Los Angeles locations. Editor Jasmine 'Mac' McCullough has joined Final Cut's Los Angeles studio, while Lucas Moesch was promoted to editor at their New York office. McCullough has spent more than a decade grow- ing as a film editor. Her work includes the short film You Can't Stop Us for Nike, which won Outstanding Commercial at the 73rd Annual Emmys and the Film Grand Prix 2021 at Cannes. Her short film Call it COVID received a Silver Lion at the 2021 Cannes Lions Awards and a Gold Pencil from One Club. Moesch is a Brazilian film editor who's worked in a range of mediums. His work for São Paulo artist Nego Bala, titled Sonho (Dream), blends music video and short film qualities. He moves into an editor position after honing his craft as assistant editor in Final Cut's New York City office.
