Set Designer Gary Myers put SketchUp and Layout's ability to the test when it came to multiple arches, curved walls and curved ceilings joining in the massive space. The entire arched ceiling was "as glass" to allow the northern lights constant pulsating glow of blues and yellows to come down and mingle with the more traditional colors of Christmas. The hallway led down to Santa's office, with a balcony overlooking the North Pole, and a small side room that served as the head elf Betty's center of operations. Three different colors of gold were used in the office, as well as woods and deep warm reds to convey a rather imposing but regal space, a connection to the old-world history of the myths surrounding Santa. Set decorator Maile Cassera's layer of old tools, deep green tufted couches, and a leather topped desk conveyed the look of Santa's office as a mancave of sorts. My favorite is the graham cracker walls in Betty's office, with latex caulk squeezed out in a diamond pattern and candy-shaped baubles at every intersection. Coupled with chocolate brown columns and shelving trim, it was like walking into a deconstructed smore. A. STUDY OF THE ARCHITECTURAL RELATIONSHIPS OF ALL THE SHAPES USED IN MAIN HALLWAY.
