I had done multiple jobs with that company and their ever-expanding roster of directors. On my way to a meeting at the office to discuss the job, the producer called to ask me if I could meet the director at his house instead. "Who is the director?" I asked. "His name is Al Yankovic," was her response. "Weird Al Yankovic?" I inquired. "He seems pretty normal to me," answered my British producer, who was unaware of the artist known as Weird Al Yankovic. Due to some major construction that was being done at his house, Al and I had to meet in his bedroom. After a bit of time watching Hanson concert footage while sitting on his bed, I began to laugh out loud. When questioned by my director about my outburst, I had to admit that "I hadn't imagined my morning starting by sitting on Al Yankovic's bed watching boy band videos with him." Thus began a long and wonderfully creative collaboration between myself and Al.
