Future Times Square and LED Wall This season offered the Westworld crew our first opportunities to work with an LED wall, "in the Volume." In a few scenes, some of the show's integral characters walk through a future Times Square, now a fully landscaped pedestrian zone, with planters and virtual trees towering above on converted digital billboards, among even more glass and steel facades. It was nice to have 3D models for reference when looking to accurately represent camera angles and movement. Executive producer/director Richard J. Lewis, a key player in maintaining the show's quality with his focus on compelling visuals and creative solutions, directed several of these LED wall scenes. Along with show runners Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, Richard is one of the directors I've worked most closely with over the past four seasons.
