Shootout at the Construction Site The iconic Man in Black (Ed Harris) preserves the show's Western roots throughout all of its timelines and environments. His inevitable conflict with the once victimized Madame Maeve Millay (Thandiwe Newton) is another through line. Episode four brings them back for another showdown in a nighttime scene at the construction site of a new park. I worked with director Paul Cameron (also one of the show's DPs) to develop tension in a sequence that involves a third shooter and eventually progresses into closer combat. Some elements were so critical that we used the boards to pitch script changes, and the scene went through several back-and-forth rounds with writers and producers.
