www.postmagazine.com 35 POST MAY/JUNE 2022 LISA MCGUIRE Creative music company Music & Strategy in Los Angeles has appointed Lisa McGuire senior producer and music supervisor. A lifelong musician, McGuire got her start in the industry by interning at a small music house and running live sound at a music venue. From there, she moved on to work at Egg Music in Minneapolis and Los Angeles, where she learned all things music, music supervision and advertising. Working freelance since then, McGuire has taken advantage of every op- portunity, acting as a music producer, voice talent, songwriter, 2nd AD, prop master, post production supervisor and agency producer. This eventually led to her producing content for Walmart and Google, as well as creating a web series with friend and director Maribeth Romslo for Hello Sunshine. Other highlights include working as a music producer on Old Navy's Imagine Mission commercial, starring Kristen Wiig, and Ford's The Perfect Union, star- ring Gabrielle Union. KAMEN MARKOV Framestore has announced that Kamen Markov has joined their London advertising team as creative di- rector. He's been a respected player in the VFX world for years, collecting accolades for work that includes Cravendale's Cats with Thumbs, which reached over 10 million YouTube views; John Lewis & Partners' The Boy and the Piano, which won more than 15 VFX awards globally; and Lego's "Rebuild The World" campaign, which was nomi- nated for outstanding VFX at VES. Markov started his career as a motion-graphics designer for TV before going on to work as an editor and VFX artist for TopForm Studio in his hometown of Bulgaria. He then relocated to Mexico City, where he began working at The FilterFX, and quickly built a name for himself, collaborating with some of the top advertising directors around. Markov later moved to London, joining MPC, where he worked as a VFX supervisor and lead compositor on several award-winning projects. ERIC ALEXANDER-HUGHES Arts Academy, a newly-launched post produc- tion house in Los Angeles, recently welcomed Eric Alexander-Hughes to its staff as edi or. The studio was founded by Peter Wiedensmith and Tommy Harden, who have more than 40 years combined experience making award-winning work. Alexander-Hughes has been making his own film from a young age. After studying political science in college, he earned an internship at Pereira O'Dell, where he further honed his skills as in-house editor and director. He cut his teeth on small editing projects before going on to make a name for himself in music videos, cutting projects that include J. Cole's ATM, Boyfriend by Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber's ETA (Nature Visual) and Hear Me Calling by Juice Wrld. This led to work on branded content for Beats by Dre, as well as projects for McDonald's, Walmart, Doritos, Spotify, Reebok and Saks Off 5th. Al xander-Hughes has also shaped films or the likes of BTS, Issa Rae, Pharrell Williams, Cardi B, Puff Daddy and ravis Scott. ELAD OFFER, YUVAL LEVY The-Artery in New York City continues to grow its roster of storytellers and technologists with the recent addition of Elad Offer (top), who joins the cre- ative studio as ECD/head of 2D, and VFX supervisor/ director Yuval Levy (bottom). Offer brings over 20 years experience as a VFX supervisor, producer and Flame artist. He has worked at VFX houses that include The Mill, Method/Company 3 and Framestore, and his career includes work on the feature films Pearl Harbor, Moulin Rouge and Get Smart, as well as on music videos for Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, Missy Elliot and Britney Spears. Levy boasts two decades of VFX experience, spending half that period moving up the ranks at Gravity New York (formerly RhinoFX), where, over time, he served as CG supervisor/head of CG, VFX/digital supervisor and creative director. He has applied his talents to multiple feature films, including Uni ersal Pictures' The Adjustment Bureau, Columbia Pictures' The Other Guys and Warner Bros.' Crazy Stupid Love. On the advertising side, Levy made his mark with Ford's F-150 campaign, which he designed, directed and supervised KATE SMITH Chicago's Flavor, the global collective of visual storytellers, recently announced the return of pro- duction veteran Kate Smith, who will serve as ex- ecutive producer. Previously a producer for Flavor, Smith spent the past year as senior producer with Carbon, developing high-profile b and campaigns, including BBH New York's Black-Owned Friday spot for Google. Prior to landing with Flavor in 2019, Smith was a producer for specialized creative agency Leviathan. She began her career with independent produc- tion studio Optimus, where she rose to the post of producer for design & VFX, working on projects spanning commercials, TV series and feature films ver the course of 10 years. CHRISTINE WOLF Picture North in Chicago has added veteran editor Christine Wolf to its growing post production team. She comes to the studio from Whitehouse Post and brings more than 15 years of experience and leadership to the studio, joining Olivia Rose Curry as senior editor. Originally from Akron, OH, Wolf discovered her love for editing while studying music and art at The School of The Art Institute of Chicago. She brings a musical touch to every piece she edits, synergisti- cally weaving sound and image. Some of her credits include work for Disney, Guinness, Ford, Tresemme, Pacifi o and YouTube.
