She brings extensive international experience to her role at Picture Shop London, which is part of Streamland Media. Barbier-Dearnley's credits span all genres, includ- ing features, episodics and documentaries. Her latest episodic credits include Harlem (Amazon), Monsterland (Hulu) and High Score (Netflix), while her eature credits include This is the Night, You Should Have Left and the documentary Roadrunner: A Film About Anthony Bourdain. JULIE MCDONALD Conductor Technologies, the Raleigh, NC-based developer of a secure, cloud-based platform for VFX, VR/AR and animation studios, has hired visual effects and animation industry veteran Julie McDonald to serve as head of business development. She comes to Conductor with an extensive background in production, having guided teams using cloud-based compute resources to create feature films and episodic series, and led busine s development for cloud-based animation platform Nimble Collective. Prior to joining Conductor, McDonald served as a VFX executive at Netflix. I 2020, she held concurrent VFX producer and managing director roles at Zero VFX, where she was a cloud transition leader on Ma Rainey's Black Bottom. At Cinesite, she was VFX producer on Murder Mystery and for Season 2 of Lost in Space, both Netflix p ojects. MATT TRUDELL Flavor, Cutter Studios' global collective of visual story -tellers, has added motion designer Matt Trudell to their global staff. A New Jersey native, Trudell spent the last two years freelancing as a motion designer. His work has appeared in many commercial and tele- vision productions, and in installations at the National Museum of Military Vehicles. Following his computer graphics studies at Pratt Institute, Trudell landed with Curious Pictures. His subsequent roles included working as a 3D anima- tor, lead animator, creative director and art director with New York City-based 321Launch and Edit 1. MEREDITH MACHIAL Charlieuniformtango, which has studios in Dallas and Austin, has named Meredith Machial vice president/ executive producer. She brings more than 17 years of production and management experience to the stu- dio, having worked with global clients such as Coca- Cola, BMW, Lexus and Burger King. For the past three years, Machial operated her own company, Liaison. TANIA MESTA Bicoastal edit house The Den recently welcomed Tania Mesta to it editing roster. Mesta is a story-driven editor known for her ability to cut narratively-compel- ling and visually-stunning work. Born and raised in El Paso, TX, to Mexican parents, she has embraced both Mexican and American culture. Mesta's path to editing began in college, where she majored in film and T . She began her editing career at Rock Paper Scissors, and then worked as an editor at Lost Planet. Her credits include projects for Calvin Klein, Prada, Kraft and Instagram. DAN JENSEN San Francisco's One Union Recording Studios has bolstered its senior mix team with the recent hiring of senior audio engineer Dan Jensen. He brings more than 15 years of experience as a sound mixer, edi- tor and designer, primarily on national and regional advertising. At One Union, he will handle mixing, voiceover and sound design sessions for agencies, brands and corporate accounts. Jensen joins One Union after eight years at Minneapolis recording studio SisterBoss. He worked regularly with leading agencies in the region, including Fallon, Carmichael Lynch and Colle McVoy, for clients that include Arby's, Subaru, Target, Best Buy, Walmart and Polaris. His background also includes more than a decade in music production at The Hideaway and Pachyderm in Minneapolis. MICHELLE MARTIN London VFX studio Milk has appointed Michelle Martin to the newly-created role of chief business de- velopment officer. In her new role, Martin will develop and drive Milk's growing episodic and film p oduction slate, as well as oversee marketing. She brings over 20 years of global VFX production and development expertise, most recently at Framestore, where she was instrumental in growing the TV/episodic slate to an award-winning level across London, New York and Montreal. While there, she oversaw projects that included The Crown, Watchmen, His House, Lovecraft Country, The Boys and Black Mirror, as well as the global event series Mars. GARY KEENAN, FRANK FARELLA Design/branding studio Mr. Wonderful in NYC has promoted Gary Keenan (top) to executive creative di- rector and Frank Farella (bottom) to creative director. Keenan's body of work includes national and interna- tional network branding, news and sports TV show packaging, and commercial direction and design. Farella has extensive experience in every step of the creative process, from conceptual design through creative development, animation and compositing, with a detail-oriented approach to project and team leadership. He's created packages and campaigns for CBS Sports, NBC Sports, ESPN, MLB Network and NHL Productions, and garnered an Emmy for his work on Super Bowl 50. MELISSA VILMENAY, KELLY MACKEY Melissa Vilmenay (top) has joined NYC's Harbor as senior talent specialist. A Brooklyn native and Berkeley College graduate, she most recently oversaw talent acquisition for Sheltering Arms, a non-profi agency dedicated to providing an array of support services to children and families living in underserved communities. Kelly Mackey (bottom) has joined Harbor as exec- utive producer, VFX & finishing, in os Angeles. She launched her career at Refinery N C and Poetica, and later worked with BlueRock, where she quickly rose to oversee and produce large automotive accounts, including Toyota for Saatchi & Saatchi. Since then, Mackey has produced for boutique post houses that include Nomad Editorial, Wax and Uppercut.
