Fernando Carrion, managed to help put together a really great crew. Fernando and Natalia Rosa were responsible for the set working drawings and Sketchup models. All working drawings were done in AutoCad. The graphics were designed by Marsi Caraballo, using mostly Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. Set construction and all of the special effects were created by Rafael Perez and his crew. This genre is something I am not experienced in and so I really needed the assistance of a brilliant concept artist. I had previously worked with a great guy from South Africa on Of Kings and Prophets for ABC, but I had to employ someone local. After meeting numerous artists, I was introduced to Jose Vega, part-time lecturer at the local university, who ironically was attending the local version of Comic-Con. Jose became instrumental, not only on the concept design team, but the visual effects team employed him for months afterward. The biggest challenge, other than being on a remote island with limited crew, was that this was a small-budget film doing science fiction.
