It not only got a fair share of nice write-ups, but it did the job; it helped to tell a story. And, as it turned out, it was quite a difficult story to tell. I never did very well in school. Ask anyone. So the concept of the "unreliable narrator" was a mystery to me. But after I looked it up on the internet, I thought "what luck!"
