From text to textile, Crabtree elevates the garments to a momentous role as vital to the acclaimed series as the actors' performances. Her conscious use of color to connect and simultaneously separate the state's classes is compelling, and the subtle design details that amplify and advance the humanity and individuality of the complex characters are captivating." CD JR Hawbaker is designing Strange Angel, a sci-fi drama produced by CBS Television Studios in association with Scott Free Productions. The story follows the mysterious-yet-brilliant double life of Jack Parsons, a rocket scientist in 1940s Los Angeles who is secretly the disciple of occultist Aleister Crowley. Hawbaker is happy to have CDG members as crew: ACD Chrissy Callan, CD Donna Casey-Aira as supervisor, and ILLs Oksana Nedavniaya and Phillip Boutte Jr. CD Ane Crabtree's Handmaid's Tale costumes Photo: Chia Chong
