By Anna Wyckoff What was it about the film Titanic? Director James Cameron's succulent pairing of heady romance and looming disaster? A haunting score and visual pyrotechnics? The lore of the infamous shipwreck was a well-established crowd-pleaser, but the 1997 blockbuster has since redefined box office success by gross- ing over $1.2 billion to date. In addition to the actors' charisma and the irresistible storyline, the costumes, which won Deborah Lynn Scott an Oscar, underscored the plot and characters and made them even more beguiling. It is impossible to imagine the film without them. 20 AT 38 The Costume Designer Spring 2018 Titanic Photos: Biltmore.
