IN FOCUS BOLDFACE NAMES BFN - WORK Designing periods ranging from the early '70s to the late '80s, CD Danny Glicker with ACD Caroline Patterson collaborated with director Gus Van Sant for his upcoming film Don't Worry, He Won't Get Far on Foot. Based on the autobiography of the same title, it Compiled and written by: Bonnie Nipar, bnipar@cdgia.com Stacy Ellen Rich, lastace@mac.com Joaquin Phoenix and Jonah Hill in Don't Worry, He Won't Get Far on Foot reveals a surprising worldview formed by cartoonist John Callahan's (Joaquin Phoenix) twisted humor and his experiences both as a quadriplegic and recovering alcoholic. Glicker worked closely with both Van Sant and Phoenix to recreate the look of the real Callahan. Of special significance was recreating Callahan's time at Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center where he began his physical recovery from a paralyzing accident. From the doctors to the atten- dants and especially the patients, Glicker tried to replicate the rehab center exactly as it is described in Callahan's memoirs. He also enjoyed the dialogue with Jonah Hill to create the enig- matic Alcoholics Anonymous sponsor Donnieā€”a flamboyant, trust- fund heir whose actual identity was unknown. Glicker chuckles, "Donnie was a delight to realize, as his sage philosophy of life was tempered with a flamboyant look. It merged a Buddha-like outlook with flashes of disco glamour, not seen but perceived was the liberal dousing of Halston cologne that Hill dabbed on his Gucci sweaters and YSL Caftans." Produced by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg and directed by Jonathan Watson, CD Kathryn Langston Orindgreff is newly onboard designing Season 2 of Future Man for Hulu. Appreciating the advantage of hiring fellow CDG members, her crew includes ACD Suzy Magnin, CD Stephanie Siemens supervising, and CD Lisa Davis as in-house specialty costumer. The team is excited to create custom-built looks that support the characters' time travel to prevent the extinction of humanity.
