Art Director Hunter Brown is particularly good with comedy, and he had some fun with this. A matte "murder" black paint job was used with a quick stencil of their ghostly logo. We both got our hands dirty creating blackened baby doll head samples for the bumper. The Winnebago we used came with some mom-and-pop- style dressing inside, and I decided to keep the feel of it. I liked telling the story that Tucker and Specs hadn't completely revamped it inside and out, and a quirky wood-carved "clean camper clean soul" plaque was a nice touch. Maybe eventually, they'll go all the way with it. Bruce Lee's water theory was not spoken of during the filming and not something I would have articulated at the time. There wasn't a minute for that. My talented and hardworking crew quickly jumped in with me and rode the "hot dusty shoot in August" ride. Originally, my Blumhouse counterpart Jennifer Spence was slated to design the film, but couldn't due to a conflict with another project. I got a call, an interview and the job in the span of about five days. So, there in action the water theory began. I simply flowed with it until it was done. I was supported throughout with a splendidly enthusiastic and creative director in Adam Robitel, one of my favorite collaborative directors of photography Toby Oliver, and a production team of Rick Osako and Laura Altmann who worked with us to get the best work in front of the camera that we possibly could. All hearts and minds were dedicated to the project and it was an absolute pleasure to be a part of. ADG A. Concept design of Spectral Sightings Winnebago. Done in Photoshop by Hunter Brown. B.
