The Production Designers Collective by David Morong, Editor The Production Designers Collective is an international group of colleagues dedicated to mutual support through sharing knowledge, encouragement and experience. The membership consists of over 320 designers from North and South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia and New Zealand. The Collective enables its members to exchange professional experiences, give-and-receive advice, discuss current issues in the field and construct a community of like-minded visual creators. The Collective was founded by Inbal Weinberg, featured in this issue for her Production Design of Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri and Kalina Ivanov, Emmy Award-winning Production Designer of Grey Gardens. The organization's objectives are: to be a hub for Production Design organizations around the world; to promote the profession by bringing awareness and acknowledgment of designers' contribution in the entertainment industry; to elevate the profession by mentoring future generations of Production Designers. The Collective website, which can be found at www.productiondesignerscollective .org, has grown into a valuable resource open to anyone interested in design for the entertainment world, and its international focus makes it a unique source of information about production around the globe. The website has original content, as well as links to other sites of interest. Features are updated regularly, and include sections on collaboration, snapshots of design practices in many countries, articles on places that designers find inspiration, interviews with Production Designers, and a page that looks back at iconic examples of film design.
