The classes offered through the training programs supported by the locals are many and varied. They are structured in similar ways and were developed to provide more than just training. These classes are structured in "small bites," so that members can try out software, workflows, tools, techniques and skill development without excessive investment in time and energy. The classes are progressive, offering more advanced skills and allowing greater proficiency at a reasonable pace. Plus, it's a great way to try new things and a great way to network with your peers. A variety of vendors are specifically chosen by Eido to give members the best learning experience. One of the vendors that Eido has partnered with is the Los Angeles Academy of Figurative Art (LAAFA). LAAFA has a wonderful environment. There is the art school vibe, with art on the walls by students and instructors, and a feeling of oil paint and creativity in the air. Studios are set up for traditional drawing, painting and sculpture classes and there is great flexibility in providing digital workspaces, with large-screen HDTVs, powerful laptop computers, Wacom Cintiqs and tablets, all in a comfortable atmosphere that is conducive to learning and exploring creativity. Every new group of members arriving for a class expresses enthusiasm and delight at the ambiance of the school. Get to know your instructors, who are not only knowledgeable to the expert level in these skills, but are working professionals like yourselves, working on similar projects with similar pipelines. Take advantage of the breaks and the excellent lunch, which provides the perfect setting for discussing with colleagues the state of the business, the nature of our jobs, career choices and the directions we might strive to pursue in the future. We hope to see you soon! A B C D
