Cat Can Do O WHEN IN TEXAS, MAKE TEXAS DRINKS, SAYS CATERINA MILTENBERGER by Anthony Head / photos by Kirk Weddle n yet another warm afternoon in Fort Worth, the Firestone & Robertson Distillery becomes something more than a maker of Texas whiskey. On this day it's the location for Caterina Miltenberger's Texas-inspired cocktail creations. With two decades of experience in restaurants, bars, and the hospitality industry already under her belt, Cat has mixed up just about any combination of ingredients imaginable in a glass. And yet, she's never out of ideas. It's her passion for this career, she tells THE TASTING PANEL, that drives her to keep experimenting, to keep regularly dreaming up—and then whipping up—award-winning drinks and to keep building professional cocktail programs for the trade. Cat is Corporate Mixologist for Dallas-based Glazer's Wholesale Distributors, one of the largest distributors in the country. "Glazer's is doing great. Business is up, and we've moved into our 14th state," she says while setting up all kinds of glassware and bar tools, and a pantry-full of ingredients. Working closely with Glazer's National Accounts Directors, Cat constantly takes her show on the road to conduct on-premise training around the country. "I'm certainly traveling more, but I could be just as busy and happy in one state, especially this state, where we're building relationships with local spirits makers."
