54 P E R S P E C T I V E | J U LY / AU G U S T 2 0 1 7 ANTHONY LEE WINN is an American comic book artist, writer and illustrator/storyboard artist. Born in South Vietnam, he grew up in Southern California watching the same cartoon shows any other child watched Saturday mornings in the 1970s. Throughout his early career, Mr. Winn cut his teeth working at Image Comics as a layout artist, eventually paving his way to work in animation. The self-taught artist found himself juggling many projects that involved storyboards, character designs, animation and branding. In 2008, he was a key force in launching the new and revamped Stripperella, collaborating with Stan Lee. He is recognized as a creative force that develops new and innovative superhero myths for genre and multimedia, and has also recently written, produced and directed an animated music video for Brody Dalle's Meet the Foetus, featuring Shirley Manson from Garbage. His current projects include working with rock musician/writer Carla Harvey of the Butcher Babies on their vampire comic book Soul Sucka.
