Over 2,500 athletes, of all ages, will be paired with a high school volun- teer "buddy" for a variety of events involving sports like basketball, volleyball, baseball soccer, football and track. The day will also in- clude live music, theme park characters, fire trucks and police vehi- cles and a dog petting area! Lunch will be served too. The mu- seum will be will be lit blue in support of families with a child on the spectrum. Blue will be the color theme for projects in the Art Stu- dio, from doing sponge painting to creating Paul Klee-inspired art. Youngsters can also join with representatives and families from the Center for Autism in various sensory friendly activities. This organization, which is celebrating its 40th year of service, plays the important role of providing a "home away from home" for families with seriously ill children who are receiving treatment in local hospitals.
