Caesars Entertainment has received the 2012 Silver IMEX Green Supplier Award for its unwavering commitment to RECOGNIZED WITH SILVER IMEX GREEN SUPPLIER AWARD CAESARS ENTERTAINMENT INTERNATIONALLY environmental sustainability.The award was presented recently at the IMEX 10th Annual Gala Dinner held at the Alte Oper in Frankfurt, Germany. Developed by IMEX and the Green Meetings Industry Council (GMIC), the Green Supplier Award recognizes envi- ronmental excellence and innovation within the meetings industry, and represents the highest accolade for environmental responsibility among meeting suppliers. "While it's always an honor to be recognized for an accomplishment in business, it is much more satisfying to be recog- nized for working towards the greater good," said Caesars Entertainment Senior Vice President Michael Massari. "Environmental responsibility is incredibly important to our organization, and we have engaged team members at all lev- els of the company in our efforts. This includes helping our meetings customers make their programs with us not only suc- cessful but more sustainable. We are thrilled to be the recipient of the Silver IMEX Green Supplier Award for these efforts that are good for our business, good for our customers and good for our planet, and we thank IMEX and the GMIC for the opportunity." Impressed by Caesars Entertainment's level of employee engagement in its sustainability efforts, the 2012 Silver Award reinforced the company's position as an industry leader in environmental sustainability. Caesars Entertainment's employee- driven grass roots strategy, CodeGreen, seeks to make positive environmental and social impacts while reducing water, ener- gy and waste consumption at each of its more than 50 properties worldwide. Caesars enables its efforts through its 70,000 employees, with many incremental actions incorporated into the company's daily business practices and employee roles. These proactive initiatives range from Power Down campaigns and shut down procedures in the company's hundreds of food outlets and convention space, in-room temperature and lighting programs, and implementing a "water upon request" serv- ice program. To-date, more than 200 of the company's meeting sales and services managers have complet- ed the course and can assist meeting planners in making their programs more sustainable.
