june 2016  /  the tasting panel  /  127 Troy Clarke, Director of Mixology & Spirit Education, Martignetti Companies and representing Philadelphia Distilling, won second place for the cocktail—named A Fairy's Escape with Vieux Carré Absinthe— created by Chris Chamberlain of Philadelphia Distilling. Served in a unique cocktail pipe, the Cucumber Cloud cocktail by J.R. Starkus—District Manager, Brand Development and Resorts Mixology, Southern Wine & Spirits of Nevada and representing Davos Brands—received third place. Franco Davide Borgia, Chief Alchemist, Distillerie Bonollo Umberto Spa, won the People's Choice Award for his L'Italiano cocktail, featuring Grappa Gra'it. Victoria D'Amato-Moran, mixologist for Pacific Edge/HPS Epicurean took home first place for her Lxcacao cocktail, which included a handmade dark chocolate cup with a shot of rum in it.
