He was 53 years old and left behind his wife Marcelle and his son Jake. Below is a tribute by his colleagues and friends. Mensch: A decent, upright, mature and respon- sible person. Freddy Brand was all of those and more. Freddy's career spanned from working for Southern Wine & Spirits, Shaw Ross, Great Western Brokerage and, most recently, he grew Beluga Vodka to where it is today. A fixture in the California market, Freddy was loved by many, adored by more and admired by everybody. Suppliers, distributors, sales people, admin- istrative people, retailers and warehouse people, all loved Freddy Brand and his loss is being felt by hundreds. He spent his whole life living in the same area he grew up in, raising a beautiful family, and his love for Los Angeles, sports and the L.A. area teams in particular was legendary and incredibly loyal. He treated everyone with a smile and respect. Our hearts and prayers go out to all his family. Please consider donating to his family at www.gofundme.com/frederickbrand. We will miss you, Freddy Brand. APPOINTMENTS P recept Wine Chief Executive Officer Andrew Browne announced last month the promotion of Alex Evans to Chief Sales and Marketing Officer. Formerly Precept's Chief Marketing Officer, Evans will oversee all company marketing, strategic accounts, distributor personnel and retail business. She joins Kirk Brewer, Co-Chief Sales Officer, who laterally oversees pricing, logistics, ship- ping, budgeting, forecasting and business intelligence/analytics.
