STORAGE UPDATE www.postmagazine.com 43 POST OCTOBER 2015 Jumbo 1/2 Horizontal G-TECHNOLOGY EXPANDS EVOLUTION SERIES SAN JOSE, CA — G-Technology (www.g-tech nology.com) has announced four new prod- ucts in its Evolution Series, a flexible ecosys- tem of docking stations and interchangeable and expandable external hard drives and ac- cessories that the company says make trans- ferring, editing and distributing content more efficient, scalable and reliable. Among the new products, which include ev Series Reader Red Mini-Mag Edition, G-Dock ev Solo and the ev Series FireWire Adapter, is the G-Speed Studio XL with two ev Series Bay Adapters. The G-Speed Studio XL with two ev Series Bay Adapters is a flexible, eight-bay Thunderbolt 2 storage solution, which comes with six enterprise-class hard drives and two integrated ev Series Bay Adapters. It offers professional content creators a huge amount of capaci- ty and performance. The integrated ev Series Bay Adapters accommodate all ev Series drive modules, enabling cross-functionality with the Evolution Series for enhanced workflow and productivity. Configurable in RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, and 10, it supports multi-stream compressed 4K workflows with extreme- ly large volumes of data at transfer rates of up to 1,200MB/sec and has the ability to daisy-chain via dual Thunderbolt 2 ports. It's available this month at an MSRP of $2,799.95 for 18TBs; $2,999.95 for 24TBs; $3,999.95 for 36TBs; and $4,999.95 for 48TBs. FACILIS DEBUTS SHARED STORAGE AND ASSET TRACKING PRODUCTS IN EUROPE HUDSON, MA — Facilis (www.facilis.com) recently launched several new products to the European market at the IBC 2015 show in Amsterdam, in- cluding the TerraBlock 24D/HA Hybrid Array, which includes a drive group of eight SSDs for ultra-high performance, alongside a larger drive group of tra- ditional 4TB SATA drives for 80TBs of combined capacity. Since TerraBlock is a virtual volume system, facility administrators can create unique volume con- figurations that make the best use of the capacity and scalability of HDDs, and the consistency of speed and bandwidth inherent in SSDs. Performance derived from the SSD group can power multi-stream uncompressed 4K workloads, while the 16-drive group delivers the collaborative experience for compressed HD editorial and content creation workflows. The new TerraBlock 8D is an eight-drive, 16TB turnkey content creation system. Like Facilis' larger servers, this 2U rack mountable server combines the Facilis Shared File System with virtual volume workflow and performance. The 8D includes Gigabit Ethernet connectivity and can be upgraded to support Fibre Channel and 10GigE connec- tions, making it attractive for facilities looking for a cost- effective way to use existing Fibre Channel networking.
