He worked with the studio and its founder Todd Masters more than 15 years ago on projects such as Demon Knight, Dark Skies and Mortal Kombat, when the studio was using puppets and prosthetics exclusively. It has since evolved its work- flow to incorporate a blend of practical and digital makeup and special FX, prosthetics and animatron- ics. Coulter has over three decades of experience in the field, having worked on more than 200 films. He is overseeing day-to-day operations on VFX at MastersFX's LA headquarters, and is spearheading character and creature design work for their current slate of projects. GREG LETSON NY-based Northern Lights has signed editor Greg Letson. With over two decades of experience cutting commercials, broadcast promos, short films, music videos and documentaries, Letson has earned numer- ous accolades for his advertising work, including a 2008 AICE Award. He has edited spots for Coca-Cola, Visa, Reebok, Ford, Mercedes-Benz, Bayer, Citibank, Olay and Trojan, collaborating with agencies such as Chiat\Day, McCann-Erickson, BBDO, Saatchi, JWT, Arnold Worldwide and Creative Artists Agency. SCOTT BALLARD LA-based GPL Technologies, provider for IT services for companies in the media and entertainment industry, announced that Scott Ballard has joined as VP of soft- ware development. Ballard is set to head the company's new pipeline consulting division, Pipeline Now, which will provide production pipeline architecture, devel- opment, support and training. He will oversee Pipeline Now's strategic planning, develop new workflows, and manage talent acquisition. Ballard has 18 years of experience in the media and entertainment industry. He's worked as a character rigging supervisor at Cinesite and DreamWorks Animation; CG supervisor at Sony and Technicolor; and pipeline supervisor at Saatchi & Saatchi, RGH Entertainment and Encore Hollywood. LUC COMEAU Industry veteran Luc Comeau has joined Denver, CO-based Levels Beyond, where he will lead business development efforts for the company. Levels Beyond is the creator of Reach Engine, a software platform providing streamlined media management, distri- bution, optimization and monetization capabilities. Comeau brings over 25 years of experience in facili- tating successful solutions for clients in the broadcast and media communities to his new role as VP of sales for Levels Beyond. Comeau began his career in the audio recording industry as a product specialist. He will be based in the company's Denver headquarters. ROBERT RYANG Editor Robert Ryang has joined the New York office of Cut+Run, which also has offices in London, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Austin. Ryang will be available for work on projects there, too. Ryang studied film at Columbia and first gained national and international recognition with a personal project — the AICE Trailer Park-winning Shining, in which the chilling psychological horror film is reimag- ined as a romantic comedy. In addition to branded projects, Ryang has edited music videos for Death Cab for Cutie, Muse, Sleigh Bells and a feature film, Clown, for The Weinstein Company. CAMILLE GEIER Digital creative studio Click 3X in NYC has added Camille Geier as executive producer, in charge of leading all studio operations, including spearheading business development and recruiting new talent. Geier brings with her a partnership with Montreal-based VFX house Rodeo FX, where she was previously executive producer. Geier has an extensive VFX and animation background, working in advertising, pro- duction and the feature film worlds. Prior to Rodeo FX, Geier was COO/head of studio for Curious Pictures and COO/executive producer at Rhinofx. JOANNA WOODS, KENDALL FASH Deluxe Creative Services recently hired producer Joanna Woods to oversee projects in Chicago for sister companies Beast, Company 3, and Method Studios. Kendall Fash, previ- ously a producer, has been named national director of marketing for Beast and will remain in Chicago. An accomplished audio produc- er, Woods has worked on TV, radio, video, and Web content for brands such as Allstate and Wal-Mart. Fash has been with Beast Chicago for five years, most recently as senior producer for Beast, Company 3, and Method. JONATHAN MOSER Editor/producer Jonathan Moser has committed to joining the staff of Jupiter Entertainment in Knoxville, TN, this month. Jupiter works on a number of docu/ drama series, including TLC's Welcome to Myrtle Manor and Animal Planet's Wild West Alaska. Moser, whose credits include Deadly Sins, Dateline NBC, Cosmos, films and many other programs, will be working on new shows being produced by Jupiter. He is skilled in the use of Avid editing systems, and is a frequent contributor to Post. Jupiter recently partnered with Sky TV in March, promising a surge of growth for the company. Woods Fash
