Fans of Amoretti Red Velvet As a former personal shopper/stylist in Miami for designer Marc Jacobs, Revae Schneider has a gifted sense for fashion. When the economy downturned, she headed to Chicago and, after working at the Gilt Bar, found she had talent for styling for another medium: cocktails. Bar Stylist Revae Schneider is one of the most influential mixologists in Chicago. "This was a classi- cally based cocktail bar," Schneider tells THE TASTING PANEL. Moving on to a few other bar stints, a friend noted her adeptness in creat- ing beverage programs. "She convinced me to become a personal shopper for bars." Schneider, whose website www.FemmeduCoupe.com is as expressive as the drinks she concocts, insists on the fashion connection: "Essentially, creating a cocktail is similar to putting on an outfit, a skirt and a cardigan. Your favorite outfit makes you feel confident and sexy, right? It should be the same as the drink in your hand." Schneider, a true Bar Stylist, translates cocktail making for the home user as well as the bar staff. "The goal is to educate," she says, referring to the weekly classes she offers. "Ultimately, you want your students to understand the difference between a 900-calorie Margarita and a well-crafted drink." The Dame en Rouge Revae Schneider told us that Amoretti Red Velvet was inspiring to work with. "Immediately, I pulled out the luscious chocolate and vanilla components. But this mix is so natural tasting—and fruity—but it doesn't have to be a dessert drink even though it truly mimics the Red Velvet cake we all adore." ■ ■ ■ ■ 1½ oz. A Zin-ful Approach to Red Velvet When a restaurant bar is busy, and if Amoretti Martini Mix should fall into the right hands, you can turn around exquisitely natural tasting drinks easily and quickly. We chose one of the busiest places we know in a bedroom community just outside of Los Angeles to prove our point. "We're in an upscale community and our customers, while they tell us they feel at home, still expect a drink that tastes professionally made," says Rouz Yazdanyar, owner of Zin Bistro Americana, a popular spot that is blessed with a view of the serene waters that surround Westlake Village. Amoretti Red Velvet—as well as many of the other Amoretti Martini Mix flavors—are now a staple at the bar. "It gets our creative juices going." THE RED VELVET ZIN 1½ oz. Absolut Vodka ■ ■ ■ ■ ¾ oz.
