education and in opposition to Gov. Terry Branstad's vetoes that cut school and mental health funding approved by the Iowa Legislature.
Presidential candidate and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton spoke to members at the Iowa State Education Association Summer Leadership
Conference in Altoona. The National Education Association sent candidate questionnaires to all Democratic and Republican candidates. The ISEA invited
all candidates that responded to the NEA questionnaire to speak at the assembly. Candidates Bernie Sanders and Martin O'Malley sent video messages that
were played at the conference.
