FROM THE EDITOR Come Cruise with Me I've been invited to host one of Ama Waterways' European wine discovery river cruises this fall. The luxury MS AmaLegro will depart from the charming port of Amsterdam on October 14, bound for Luxembourg on our "Vineyards of the Rhine and Mosel" cruise. Over the course of a week, we'll be vis- iting some of the world's most celebrated and historic white wine vineyards and wineries, as we wend our way along the legendary Rhine and Mosel Rivers. We'll discover great wine towns here that date back centuries—including Bernkastel, with more than 500 years of documented wine history. One of the highlights will be our stop in Cologne, site of the famous gothic Kölner Dom (cathedral) and home to refreshing Kölsch-style beer, a local specialty. As we cruise through the spectacular Rhine Gorge, we'll pass the legendary Lorelei Rock of German folklore, before stopping to visit the wine village of Rüdesheim and Siegfried's Museum of mechanical musical instruments. From our destination in Luxembourg, where we will spend the morning of October 21, we'll be whisked to Paris via the high-speed TGV train. There's an optional three-day stay in Paris for those so-inclined. I've hosted a lot of wine tours and events, but this is one that I'm really looking forward to. The MS AmaLegro is an exceptionally luxurious way to travel. Staterooms are large, beautifully appointed and equipped with flat-screen TVs and Wi-Fi. Outstanding meals and exciting wines will highlight this amaz- ing cruise. I hope to see you on board!
