Students begin with virtual cash and are challenged to develop a successful investment portfolio, virtually. Students work in different-sized teams and utilize a broad range of information and skills to apply newly-acquired financial knowledge to solve real world issues in saving and investing. Frank Schleicher, WEA member and former math teacher from Buffalo High School, served as the coordinator for the Wyoming Stock Market Game for over 22 years. When Schleicher retired in June, WEA member and Star Valley High School teacher Kent Eberspacher took over the reins. Eberspacher said it was an easy decision because, "Thousands of students across Wyoming have benefited greatly from this project-based learning activity." In addition, WSMG students have an opportunity to take part in the InvestWrite Writing Competition and the Capitol Hill Challenge; Wyoming students have performed very well in both. The WSMG is available to every school in Wyoming. For more information or if you have questions, please contact smgwyoming@gmail. com or visit www.stockmarketgame.org.
