BACK TO SCHOOL 2014 | WEAnews 10 The WEA millennial member- driven group, BEWM (Because Education in Wyoming Matters), hosted its first-ever New Educator Bazaar in August. Almost 30 new educators came and grabbed all the supplies and decorations that were offered up…for FREE! The classroom items were donated from retired Natrona County Education Association members, then given away to incoming educators of the NCEA. BEWM members hope this idea spreads to other locals around the state, as this is a great way to introduce both new and prospective members to the support WEA members give each other. BEWM has a private group on Facebook, and is always looking for exciting ways to have fun in the association, while providing support and an outlet for not only millennial members, but any member! Any WEA member is welcome to the group through an invitation by a BEWM member. For more information about BEWM, holding your own New Educator Bazaar, or other membership organizing opportunities, please Helps New Educators with FREE Classroom Supplies Share Your Reason For Joining Wyoming Education Association membership is comprised of a wide variety of educational personnel ranging from classified support staff to certified staff and administrators. Each member's reason for being part of our association is as diverse as our membership. As shown below, WEA offers an array of services for our members. And each of you joined for one or more of these reasons. As the Membership Organizing Specialist, I would ask each of you to share the reasons for your membership with potential members in your team, building or district. Too often we are perceived by those outside of our association as existing for only one or two reasons when we, as members, know what WEA does for our public schools in Wyoming. Please share with others your reason for belonging and invite them to join the Wyoming Education Association.
