T Nichols has won many awards for DSEA at the annual SEE Conference, including nine Best Newspaper awards for the small states (the 15 Associations with less than 15,000 members), including this year in Atlanta. She also won Awards of Merit in Photography and Page Layout this year. In 2001, at NEA's P.R. Nichols wins Editor of the Year Award he George Badner Award for Excellence in Editing is awarded annually by the State Education Editors (SEE) of NEA. This year it went to Pam Nichols, DSEA's director of communications, and editor of this publication since December of 1985. "The most important thing I do for our members - bar none - is this publication," says Nichols. "It's an honor to be given this privilege," she says, "and it's very humbling to be able to bring the NEA spotlight to Delaware." Formerly an employee with the State of Delaware, Div. of Purchasing, she began at DSEA as a UniServ secretary/receptionist, then assistant to the president, and now assistant in the business office. In 1994 the DSEA Exec. Grant recipients will be expected to provide information on the outcome of the practice or initiative to other districts and charter schools. All districts and schools are eligible to apply A district must submit . on behalf of any of its schools. The maximum grant request is $150,000 per initiative; however, the state expects most applications to range between $5,000 and $50,000. The deadline for applications is July 26, 2013, with awards announced in mid to late August.
