N O V E M B E R / D E C E M B E R 2 0 1 9 | P E R S P E C T I V E 5 3 J i a r u i B A I Jiarui Bai holds a bachelor's degree in digital media from Northeastern University (China) and recently graduated from San Diego State University (SDSU) with an MFA in film and TV production. Throughout her academic career, Bai has worked as a studio supervisor, Art Director and Production Designer in both her own short films and those of her peers. Her film The Door (2015) won the Jury Award in the Emerging Filmmakers Festival at SDSU in fall 2015 and she received the Best Production Design Award for her thesis film Ashes in the 2018 Spring SDSU Film Festival. M A U R I C I O A b u d F r i e d e r i c h s e n Mauricio graduated from the Tecnológico de Monterrey in Mexico City in 2014, with a BA in communication and digital media. As an undergrad, he was involved in directing, producing and designing for student films, and during college, he worked as a PA on his first feature film. After graduating, he moved to Los Angeles and enrolled in the producing program in UCLA Extension. After graduating, he participated in the OPT program for a year and crewed in Art Departments for the local film industry.
