I am so pleased to have such a talented group to share with you. We have Benton Jew, Tim Burgard, Trevor Goring, Tom Wagman and me, Patrick J. Rodriguez. All of this year's entries raise the bar, if I may say so myself, and leave me wondering how we will top it next year. Although I am only soliciting one- to three-page stories, it amazes me to see how much story these artists deliver. It's definitely not about word count, as you will see in Trevor Goring and Tom Wagman's pages. There is extreme action as seen in Tim Burgard's Tarzan short, a thought- provoking meditation through boxing with Benton's piece, and this year I'm mixing it up with an adventurous new teaser for a novel I've been working on. More and more, I'm finding that my personal work is taking center stage in my life. Doing more personal projects has allowed others to see where my interests lie. It is rewarding to get work based on the passions I share with this Guild. Be on the lookout for my Book of Skulls. I hope to Kickstarter it this summer, or perhaps I'll get lucky and find a publisher. Everyone who shared their artwork in these comic book pages yearns to share their personal stories. They have all written something about their pieces in this magazine, and about their careers as well, so please take a minute and check these out. They have poured hours and days into these short stories, and with all of their abundant talent, I am sure you will enjoy them.
