I'm currently leading the department on my seventh film for Marvel Studios. It started with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Working closely with James Gunn, the producers and leadership of Marvel Studios (Kevin Feige, Louis D'Esposito and Victoria Alonso), and the heads of all the other departments (costume, Art Department and visual effects mainly), we all joined together to find a vision that was unique to this sequel, while maintaining the charm and magic of that first film. Sequels are always difficult, but they're so much easier when you have a visionary like James at the helm. It's always nice to work for someone that you know understands the characters and has a strong idea of how to tell a meaningful story. James has proven that throughout his film career. On Guardians Vol. 2, the biggest challenge was finding the look for Ego.
