The gem of the small town is the candy shop, where Lewis gets the secret decoder ring that unlocks Isaac Izard's evil plan. Clocks gave Graphic Designer Jason Sweers a wealth of opportunities to showcase his talents. From the magic posters that tell the history of Jonathan and his mentor Isaac, to the wallpapers in every room of the house, almost every surface in the film was custom designed. Jason also helped prop master Brad Einhorn create Jonathan's scrapbook, which details the history of Jonathan's magic career with Isaac. Brad had LA propmakers Lewis Doty and Michael Richey White design and create the necromancy book Lewis uses to raise Isaac Izard from the dead. It's increasingly rare to work on a project that genuinely gives the Art Department the opportunity to take bold creative risks from start to finish. The House with a Clock in Its Walls was definitely that project for us. From Eric Kripke's imaginative adaptation of the original book to Eli Roth's bold, playful direction, we had endless opportunities to create settings that were imaginative and fun. When you see the film, I think you'll experience a bit of the joy and wonder which Lewis feels as he inhabits this world, and which each of us got to feel as we went through the process of creating it.
