The Creative Arts Emmy honors outstanding artistic and technical achievement. Hulu's The Handmaid's Tale had two episodes nominated in the Production Design category. It was the first win for Mark White, Elisabeth Williams, Martha Sparrow and Caroline Gee, and the show brought Hulu three awards that night. Game of Thrones gave HBO 13 Emmys, the most for a single program. This was for Deborah Riley a fourth Emmy win for the show and the fifth time the show has been recognized for Production Design by the Television Academy. It was the first win for Todd Fjelsted, Harry Otto and Ryan Watson for GLOW. This honor followed the win of an ADG Award for their design work on the show. SNL received eight Emmys this year, and it was the design team's second year in a row to win. The show has won the Production Design Emmy four times and received another eleven nominations over its forty-three season run. Jesus Christ Superstar was the first win for Jason Ardizzone-West and Melissa Shakun. The show won five Emmys and gave three music legends their EGOT—Andrew Lloyd Webber, Tim Rice and John Legend. Congratulations to the nominees and winners for their well-deserved recognition.
