Wave Chocolate Covered Pretzel Flavored Vodka A Round-Up of Todays Best Flavored Vodkas Americans have made avored vodkas one of the most signicant trends in the beverage business. In the event you missed the initial fanfare surrounding their release, here is a scouting report on some of the best and brightest avors on the market. Success in this segment of the vodka market is dependent on two variables. First, the featured lavor should be something that is not easily recreated in the back of the house. Second, it needs to showcase a lavor that darn near everyone over the age of majority will ind compelling. Enter Wave Chocolate Covered Pretzel Flavored Vodka, launched in November. Heres a vodka with fun written all over it. The colacolored spirit has a viscous, full body and a cocoa and sweet grain nose. Both are tailor-made for drink making. The vodkas most marketable attribute is its pronounced and highly focused chocolate and salted pretzel lavor. The vodka has a long inish, again largely due to its moderate alcohol content. Early reviews for the Chocolate Covered Pretzel Vodka have been high, says Tracey Clapp, Wave Marketing Director. And pre-orders at retail have been strong. But were not done with adding to our lavor wheel just yet as we have several other tricks up our sleeve! The Sazerac Company ABSOLUT Tune The latest offering from one of the early pioneers of lavored vodkas, ABSOLUT Tune is a break from conventionality. It is a blend of famed Absolut Vodka (40%) and Sauvignon Blanc (60%) from the New Zealands Marlborough region. Fine carbonation added before its bottled at 28 proof. The fusion is clear with a silky body, generous fruit-laced bouquet and a dry palate of white wine and dried fruit. Serve well chilled. Pernod Ricard USA Naked Jay Big Dill Pickle Flavored Vodka For some, inspiration requires an apple hitting the head; for others, like Virginia native Jason Zimecki, all it took was running out of mixers at a college football game. Faced with a potentially devastating situation, Zimecki took some vodka and poured in pickle juice straight from the jar. The reception to the combination was overwhelmingly favorable. Naked Jay Big Dill Pickle Flavored Vodka was launched commercially in October 2011. The yellow-tinged, 60-proof vodka has a medium-weight body and a briny nose laced with the subtle aromas of dill, garlic and cucumbera spot-on recreation of pickle juice! On the palate, the vodka raises little heat as it ills the mouth with the tart, slightly acidic lavor of pickles. The inish is clean and crisp. Naked Jay Big Dill Pickle is a sublime addition to a Bloody Mary or a Dirty Martini, ideally balanced and without the overbearing salt so prevalent in pickle juice.
