Students at VFS will be able to use the facility for their final projects pertaining to their course of study. Jon Bell, managing director at VFS, says the studio will provide hands-on learning for students. At least 40 days a year are set aside for students tackling their final projects. The space will also be available for rent when it is not being used by the students, thereby benefiting the city's growing film and games industries, as well as the plethora of studios located in the area that are working on diverse projects – many of which use performance capture. And that number continues to grow. With so much work going on, it's no surprise, then, that already businesses are booking time at the studio. In fact, the new studio is already booked for the next year. VFS alumni will have first priority for all commercial per- formance-capture employment opportunities at the new studio, as well as enhanced training and education in the latest capture techniques. Groundbreaking occurred February 22, 2017, and the studios was completed in record time. In addition to the new performance-capture studio, the VFS campus also features a 280-degree greenscreen, among other inventive offerings. ●
